The Head of Buying & Merchandising leads the overall product strategy, assortment planning, pricing, and inventory direction of the company. This role is responsible for driving commercial success by aligning buying and merchandising strategies with brand positioning, sales targets, and market trends across both retail and e-commerce channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute overall buying and merchandising strategies to achieve company sales and profit objectives.
  • Oversee seasonal range planning, OTB management, pricing, and inventory allocation.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Buying and Merchandising teams to ensure strong product and commercial performance.
  • Analyze sales, margin, and stock data to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Work closely with Retail, E-commerce, and Marketing teams to ensure product launches and campaigns align with business goals.
  • Review and approve major buying decisions, vendor partnerships, and new collection directions.
  • Ensure effective communication between Buying, Merchandising, and cross-functional departments.
  • Continuously evaluate market trends, competitor movements, and consumer demand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in buying or merchandising, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and leadership capability.
  • Proven experience in fashion retail or e-commerce industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel and familiarity with retail systems and data analysis.
