The Project Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end project management of various projects across the manufacturing operation, managing projects from concept to commissioning within environments such as process, packing, or facilities and utilities.

The Project Engineer supports the delivery of key plant results (Compelling Business Need - CBN), including zero safety accidents, zero quality losses, cost savings, efficiency improvements, 100% Customer Service Level, and 100% engagement using the Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) program as an enabler. This is achieved through agile and flawless project management and execution across all project phases from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities / Key Activities :

Safety, Health, and Environment :

  • Drive Safety, Health, and Environment culture through role modeling behaviors. Ensure compliance with safety legislation, standards, and policies such as LOTOTO, permit to work, hazard work permits, behavioral observations, audits, and process isolations.
  • Mitigate or eliminate ergonomics and SHE risks in projects.
  • Manage contractors, prepare permits, and review risk assessments and method statements.

Quality :

  • Promote a Quality culture and ensure compliance with quality standards and legislation in projects.
  • Ensure project designs incorporate Good Manufacturing Practices, including Sanitary Design rules and MOS standards.
  • Delivery & Cost : Project Planning :

  • Handle pre-engineering scoping, costing, and CAPEX request documentation aligned with IM standards.
  • Communication :

  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress.
  • Engage and communicate with relevant teams throughout the project lifecycle to meet operational, maintenance, and training requirements.
  • Project Management & Execution :

  • Develop tender documents for suppliers to ensure competitive bidding.
  • Prepare and issue technical documentation such as drawings, cable schedules, commissioning documents, FAT, SAT, safety checklists, and risk assessments.
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to develop URS and review FDS.
  • Manage orders via SAP, from purchase to invoice reconciliation.
  • Monitor costs versus budget, reporting monthly on actuals, commitments, and remaining budgets.
  • Project Close-Out :

  • Coordinate installation commissioning, snag tracking, and project close-out activities.
  • Ensure handover documentation, such as OEM manuals, training materials, and risk assessments, are complete.
  • Qualifications :

    We are seeking candidates who :

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering (or related).
  • Have at least 3 years of project engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
  • Possess a strong engineering background, ideally with a focus on process manufacturing.
  • Are proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
  • Have proven experience managing significant CAPEX projects.
  • Exhibit strong project and stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating complex projects.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate a structured approach, energetic personality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in teams.
