Senior Geophysicist

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Identify all of the remaining potential prospects from the asset's development campaign.
• Perform structural and stratigraphic 3D and 2D seismic interpretation and mapping, velocity modeling for depth conversion, quantitative / qualitative seismic attribute analyses, fluid substitution, pore pressure prediction, and rock physics techniques to optimize and high-grade near-field exploration, appraisal, and infill development opportunities.
• Conduct prospect evaluation and ranking using geological and geophysical data.
• Execute thorough well targeting, data acquisition plans, and all related programs, as well as create development well proposals and post-drill evaluations.
• Support well drilling operations with geophysics. Using seismic data, plan and optimize well paths.
• Identify and quantify geophysical / subsurface uncertainties that affect project technical and commercial robustness.
• Provide information to management in order to compile regular progress reports, project status updates, and presentations to Senior Management, partners, and government agencies.
• Support, recommend, and participate in the planning of internal and external work plans, as well as the development of the department's yearly budget.
