Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant / Finance Executive to join our Finance Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely processing of payments and claims, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the Finance Lead in preparing monthly and annual financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all disbursements and claims are supported by necessary documents and processed on time.
  • Check and verify Daily Cashier Reports, ensuring daily cash receipts are deposited promptly.
  • Review and correct daily revenue journals.
  • Ensure all accounting entries are properly recorded in accordance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with department heads for the preparation and submission of periodic reports, schedules, and analyses for consolidation.
  • Reconcile all sub-ledgers with the general ledger.
  • Ensure provisions, accruals, and adjustments are correctly posted.
  • Review all accounting journals prepared by team members.
  • Monitor accounts payable balances and ensure overdue items (90 / 120 days) are cleared within terms.
  • Control and monitor advance deposits, house banks, and investments.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in cashiers’ accounts; analyze and input bank statement data.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation statements, working capital, and replacement fund reports.
  • Review accounts payable in line with monthly inventory reconciliations.
  • Maintain the replacement reserve cash book.
  • Prepare monthly journals and balance sheet records, ensuring all items are reconciled.
  • Handle month-end closing no later than the 5th of the following month.
  • Approve payment requests, employee advances, and petty cash prior to disbursement.
  • Assist the Finance Lead in preparing financial statements, reports, schedules, and analyses.
  • Review accounting data, ratios, cost percentages, and aging reports, and highlight abnormalities.
  • Prepare and distribute financial statements to relevant department heads.
  • Control all Balance Sheet accounts through monthly reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting statutory returns and reports to government authorities, holding company, and internal management.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
  • Support implementation and streamlining of internal control procedures across all company activities.
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of all accounting records, books, journals, invoices, and system records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work independently with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
