We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Market Analyst or Consultant to lead and support the preparation of independent market research reports, industry reviews, economic overviews, business plans, white papers, and management analyses for a wide range of corporate clients.
The role includes supporting Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and other capital raising exercises; as well as delivering independent, data-driven insights for clients across various sectors who require research-backed analysis for strategic planning, investments, stakeholder communications, and board-level decision-making.
You will work closely with investment banks, corporate advisors, C-suite executives, and other stakeholders to produce high-quality, publication-ready research aligned with both regulatory requirements and business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct independent market and industry research across various sectors, identifying key demand-supply trends, value chain structures, market drivers, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Prepare industry outlooks and forecasts using macroeconomic, market, and sectoral data, supported by robust qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Deliver economic overviews and forecasts relevant to the client's industry, operations, or investment considerations.
- Develop strategic business plans, white papers, management and business analysis tailored to the client's business model, strategic intent, and external operating environment.
- Author or contribute to research content used for listing prospectuses, circulars, investor presentations, corporate submissions, and internal strategic planning.
- Translate complex data and business insights into clear, concise, and professional reports that are presentation- and publication-ready.
- Support the research process through desk research, industry expert interviews, surveys, and analysis of third-party datasets.
- Collaborate with internal teams, financial advisors, legal advisors, and client-side stakeholders to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality of research output.
- Stay current with market trends, economic developments, regulatory changes, and listing requirements (e.g., Bursa Malaysia and Securities Commission Malaysia).
- Participate in thought leadership initiatives, producing high-value content for publication or client education.
REQUIREMENT, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Business, Finance or a related field.Minimum 3 years of experience in market research, economic analysis, business consulting, equity research, or related fields.Proven ability to write and structure research reports, including industry reviews, macroeconomic overviews, and forward-looking forecasts.Experience preparing independent research reports, IPO-related documentation, white papers, or business plans for corporate clients.Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret economic, sectoral, and company-level data.Excellent writing and communication skills in English (Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin is a plus).Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Comfortable using technology and digital tools, including AI-based applications, to enhance research efficiency and reporting accuracy.
