Overview

Lead, Third Party Resolution Strategy & Execution at Standard Chartered. The Third Party Resolution team within Supply Chain Management (SCM) ensures the Bank can restructure post a resolution event in line with regulatory requirements from a third-party perspective. The role supports assessment and enhancement of third-party arrangements and implements improvements to enable a Group-wide restructure post a resolution event. The role participates in key Group-wide programs including Mitto and Phoenix.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy

Support the identification of capability uplift requirements to enable agile scenario planning and execution, and plan and deliver these within set timelines

  • Support the planning and delivery of workstream objectives in line with regulatory expectations and in conjunction with Group strategies that impact the overall restructuring of the Bank
  • Support and manage workstreams / projects / changes using the Group’s methodology and deliver the scope with disciplined change control and timelines
  • Document scope, approach, timelines, and other key aspects of workstreams
  • Identify and raise risks, issues, costs, benefits, and scope changes in workstreams
  • Support and participate in creating financial baselines and tracking cost actuals in budgets for PMO and Finance monthly submissions
  • Support input capture to manage project expenditure against budget
  • Provide inputs and participate in relevant Governance Committees

    Understand the wider business, legal entity structure, economic and market environment

  • Engage with external partners for scope of work, execution methodology, phasing and milestones
  • Present options and recommendations; facilitate decision-making; communicate risks, outcomes and trade-offs
  • Mitigate delivery risk by working with stakeholders
  • Support reporting, communications, and engagements to meet regulatory expectations
  • Drive timely communication to stakeholders on progress, risks and issues

  • Transition uplifted capabilities to Business-As-Usual (BAU) processes with longevity and renewal aligned to evolving regulations

  • Collaborate with Business and Functional stakeholders to ensure processes and capabilities support restructuring and regulatory compliance

  • Identify principal risk types and processes impacted to support a Group-wide restructure

  • Maintain ongoing risk identification and mitigation; escalate blockers to Governance Forums with action owners
  • Prepare quality governance materials when required

  • Escalate impediments and blockers when required; deliver governance reports as required

  • Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct; embed high ethics and regulatory compliance across the bank

  • Identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters
  • Key Stakeholders
  • Global Head, Third Party Resolution; Global Head, Resilience; Global Head, Recovery & Resolution Planning; Chief Risk Officer, Treasury Risk; Global Head of Supply Chain Management; Programme Directors / Managers for Phoenix and Mitto; stakeholders from Technology, Operations, Group WRB, CIB, HR, CRES, CABM, Finance and other Functions; stakeholders across Phoenix and Mitto programs

    Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with strong understanding of third-party / vendor landscape, resolution planning, and the Bank’s legal entity framework
  • Programme / Project Management; Stakeholder Engagement; Communication; Third Party & Vendor understanding; Standard Chartered’s Entity Framework; Resolution Planning
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university
  • Training : Professional qualifications / certifications in Procurement, Treasury, Finance preferable
  • Languages : English
