Flight Centre Travel Group is a fast-paced, growth-focused, high performance organisation. Reporting to the Regional Finance Director and working closely with the regional CFO, you'll be the architect of financial excellence across multiple markets including Singapore, Malaysia, India, China, and Japan. This hands-on leadership role requires someone who is curious, that thrives in fast-paced, multi-market environments, results driven, and wants to make their mark by establishing world-class financial processes across diverse markets.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure balance sheet reconciliation each month in accordance with group policy across all jurisdictions, with quarterly balance sheet reviews
Implement robust financial control frameworks that enhance cost control and improve income protection
Work with Group to ensure adherence to group standards and accounting policies across diverse regulatory environments
Critical Deadlines
Month-end close with Trial Balance completed no later than working day 4
All internal reporting, management packs, and supplementary reporting (e.g. daily sales, weekly debtors, TC&E spend)
External reporting including group reporting, tax returns, statutory accounts, and audit processes across multiple markets
Delivery of commentary and analysis, ensuring all stakeholders understand the underlying performance of our business
Coordinate and deliver accurate and reliable mid-month and day 1 flash forecasts across all Asia markets
Support quarterly reforecast and annual budget cycles, engaging with business leaders and FP&A teams as required
Business Partnership
Provide ad-hoc support to Finance Director and CFO, ensuring timely understanding of financial performance and position
Respond at short notice to analytical requests and support business development activities across the region
Build genuine partnerships across the business, providing both challenge and support to commercial thinking
Leadership
Act as a Finance Leader, representing the team and Flight Centre at all times
Foster a collaborative team environment focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement
Take ownership of finance processes, ensuring optimization and elimination / automation of non / low-value work
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications :
Qualified accountant with strong post-qualification experience in financial and management accounting
Proven leadership experience managing teams of qualified and part-qualified accountants
Multi-market expertise across different jurisdictions (Australia, Singapore, India, China, Japan highly beneficial)
Experience in change management and building new functions or teams
Exposure to the travel industry would be beneficial
Technical Skills :
Strong IFRS accounting knowledge with hands-on experience in complex environments
Advanced Excel skills and experience with BI tools; comfortable with large data sets and Excel-based reporting
Process improvement experience with demonstrable track record of driving efficiency
Personal Attributes :
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) are essential for stakeholder engagement; Mandarin, Cantonese, and / or Japanese would be beneficial but are not required
Common sense and pragmatic approach to problem-solving in dynamic environments
Commercial acumen : the ability to recognise when there is a commercial opportunity or risk and respond accordingly
Hands-on leadership style - flexible team player willing to support deliverables
Calm under pressure with ability to meet tight deadlines
Strong customer service orientation when working with internal and external stakeholders
