About the Job
Perform engineering detailed design on onshore / offshore projects to fulfill departmental needs and support engineering operations within the company.
Responsibilities
- Design basis, codes and standards : apply API / ISO / ASME and interpret requirements to meet project needs; resolve problems through codes and standards interpretation; understand code limitations and apply accurately.
- Review client specifications (e.g., PTS, DEP) and contract documents; raise clarifications where ambiguity exists.
- Rotating equipment knowledge : select appropriate equipment for process service applications; apply hydraulics, thermodynamics, rotor dynamics, combustion; predict performance with vendor input minimized.
- Vendor data review (VDR) : interface with other disciplines; conduct VDR meetings with vendors to support project progress; resolve interface issues.
- Fabrication knowledge : understand fabrication processes and critical path impacts; help improve delivery schedules.
- Lead engineer responsibilities : coordinate resources, monitor progress, and deliver value within project constraints; provide proactive and creative project execution.
- Technical audits : perform audits as requested; investigate and resolve quality issues.
- Material selection : understand materials for various services and review vendor material proposals; evaluate corrosion considerations.
- Working deliverables : prepare calculations, data sheets, specifications, MR / SR, TBE / TBT, equipment selection reports, and input to other disciplines.
- Interface management : work with piping / stress, process, civil, electrical, structural and instrumentation; resolve conflicts; participate in FATs and shop testing; respond to site technical queries.
- HAZOP involvement and action close-out; identify and implement cost-saving or energy-efficient measures where applicable.
- Travel and site / fabrication experience may be required; stay responsive and maintain professional relationships with clients and vendors.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Hons). At least 7 years of engineering design experience in rotating equipment for onshore / offshore applications.Experience in Green Hydrogen, Electrolyzer and Carbon Capture Storage projects is preferred.Additional Information
Be willing to travel and be stationed at various Engineering Operating Centers or client offices as needed.Site or fabrication experience (1–2 years).Maintain good professional relationships with clients, peers, equipment vendors and suppliers.Good professional references from past employers / clients.What’s Next
