Job Summary

  • Supporting CMA Ships business on areas such as optimizing cost reliability and improving processes efficiency.
  • Provide support to the business controller in controlling, monitoring and analysing specific costs in collaboration with business control team, port agents and operational team.

Key Results

  • Provide timely reporting and meaningful analysis of OPEX projects to support management in decision making.
  • Supporting CMA Ships business on optimizing cost reliability.
  • Conduct continuous / regular review and recommend process improvements to achieve efficiency.
  • Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that invoices are correctly recorded according to supporting documents and allocation rules.
  • Identify costs that should be recharged to other entities or are not properly invoiced.
  • Perform costs reclassifications to ensure costs allocation accuracy.
  • Provide an invoice approval progress statement on a weekly basis.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis highlighting improvement areas or alerting on deviations.
  • Control that all stakeholders are acting according to allocations rules and processes.
  • Contribute to monthly closings with accruals calculations.
  • Participate in the budget and forecast preparation.
  • Contribute to enhance controls, process efficiency and tools.
  • Ensure quality, accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Effectively handle queries and ad hoc requests.
  • Job Requirements

  • Degree holder in Accountancy / Finance / Business Control or equivalent with holder of a recognized professional qualification - ACCA / CIMA / CPA qualified
  • Minimum 5 years relevant solid working experience, with costing experience is preferred. Those with external audit experience or from commercial accounting / manufacturing / retail large / medium organisation would be an advantage.
  • Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power point).
  • Level of proficiency (at least intermediate which includes but not exhaustive eg. Pivot, v-lookup, @ if functions)
  • Proficiency in accounting applications (preferably ERP system).
  • Able to think creatively and analytically with positive working attitude and is self-starter and enabler.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (Fluent in written and spoken English language, knowledge in Chinese language is preferred) to deal effectively with both internal and external parties.
  • Dedicated, Meticulous and good analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Dynamic and good problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently and manage well under pressure as a solo contributor .
  • Team management and development experience.
  • Able to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders.
