Job Overview
The Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine plays a central role in the academic and clinical activities of the Faculty of Medicine, specializing in the field of emergency medicine. This position encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, conducting impactful research, providing expert clinical care, and contributing to administrative functions within the department. The successful candidate will possess a wealth of expertise in emergency medicine, a passion for education, a robust research portfolio, and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Job scope of an academic staff of UOC include the following :
Undertake teaching and related duties such as design, preparation, and development of teaching materials; conduct classes / lectures, tutorials, and practical / bed side teaching; consultation with students.
Be a mentor / academic supervisor to a group / s of student.
Undertake and contribute to administrative responsibilities such as attending departmental meetings, participating in committees, and working groups within the Department, Faculty and University.
Provide clinical / patient care services as requested by training / Ministry of Health hospital / clinic. (Minimum 4 hours / week)
Contribute to professional consultancy & networking – international & local, as approved by Dean of Medicine.
Participate in scholarly activities, including undertaking research, conference presentation, journal publications and training of peers.
