Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager

JES is a professional accounting firm providing outsourced accounting, taxation, and advisory services to a wide range of clients. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant and Assistant Manager to join our team. This role will not only handle full sets of accounts for clients but also review and guide junior team members to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and review full sets of accounts for multiple clients across various industries.
  • Review work prepared by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to junior team members to help them develop their technical skills.
  • Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable / payable, and general ledger entries.
  • Liaise with clients on accounting, and compliance matters, maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Assist clients with budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis when required.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an accounting firm or outsourcing environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, SST, and income tax compliance.
  • Experience in reviewing or supervising junior staff's work.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SQL, Xero) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with both clients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple client portfolios and meet deadlines.
