Responsibilities :

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on mixing tanks, let-down tanks, pumps, agitators, filling lines, compressors, and other plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures (e.g., pump seal leaks, bearing wear, gearbox issues, misalignment) to restore operations quickly.
  • Install, align, and maintain rotating equipment (agitators, mixers, pumps, conveyors) following engineering standards.
  • Carry out routine inspection of valves, mechanical seals, filters, and piping systems for leaks or wear.
  • Perform maintenance on utility systems such as air compressors, chillers, and water treatment systems supporting production.
  • Support plant hygiene by ensuring mechanical equipment is clean and properly maintained to prevent product contamination.
  • Collaborate with production teams to plan maintenance work and minimize downtime during paint batch manufacturing.
  • Maintain maintenance records, update CMMS (if applicable), and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Follow strict safety procedures including Lockout / Tagout (LOTO), Permit-to-Work (PTW), and confined space entry for tank inspections.
  • Assist with mechanical modifications, equipment upgrades, and installation of new machinery for process improvements.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent.
  • Preferably experience in mechanical maintenance within paint, chemical, or similar process industry.
  • Knowledge of pumps (centrifugal, diaphragm), mixers, agitators, filling machines, and hydraulic / pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with pressure vessels, pipelines, and chemical-resistant materials.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Basic welding, machining, and fabrication skills preferred.
  • Understanding of safety standards in chemical plants (e.g., PPE, chemical handling, Explosion Proof compliance).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

    • Working Conditions :

  • Paint manufacturing plant environment; exposure to solvents, chemicals, and noise (with PPE provided).
  • Frequent climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
  • May require during weekends, or being on standby for emergency breakdowns.
