Supplier Quality Engineer, APAC - Metals

Position Overview

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier governance and the quality systems that support the manufacturing of medical devices. The Engineer creates, monitors, and reports on metrics that demonstrate the health and capability of the supplier quality system. The individual maintains records and databases needed for those metrics, ensures current products and new projects meet quality and regulatory requirements, and interfaces with internal departments and suppliers on all supplier quality matters.

Responsibilities

Deliver supplier quality engineering (SQE) deliverables to support Metals category sourcing strategies and continuity of production.
Apply expertise in metal fabrication processes, including stamping, machining, forming, tool and die design, material selection, DFM, surface finish criteria, and process qualification.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics, and deploy dashboards and visualizations to support metrics.
Lead SQE efforts in sustaining projects to achieve cost reduction, capacity increase, dual sourcing, and risk mitigation.
Engage supplier partnerships and supply chain management to drive superior supplier performance and accountability.
Lead root cause analysis of supplier‑related non‑conforming product issues and drive corrective action and supplier improvement activities.
Coordinate review, technical assessment, and documentation for supplier change requests.
Apply knowledge of supplier quality system (QMS), process, and for‑cause audits.
Work in a team‑oriented and fast‑paced environment and communicate effectively at all levels.

Required Skills And Competencies

Strong understanding of QMS systems, complaint handling, and regulatory framework (21 CFR Part 820 and Part 11).

Professional handling of confidential and sensitive information.

Proficiency in analyzing quality data and generating actionable insights through dashboards or reports.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in medical device supplier quality, quality, manufacturing, or engineering.

Experience with metals manufacturing or materials is a strong plus.

Additional Information

Estimated travel : ~25%, with flexibility based on business needs.
