About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Jack-In Pile (M) Sdn Bhd, a leading provider of civil and structural engineering services in Kuala Lumpur. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects by providing expert cost management and quantity analysis support. This is a full-time position based in our Cheras office.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and analyse detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects
  • Manage the tendering process, including evaluating and negotiating contractor bids
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project managers to provide cost-related insights and recommendations
  • Prepare and manage variations, claims, and final accounts
  • Contribute to the development of cost-effective construction methodologies and strategies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices

What we're looking for

  • A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the civil / structural engineering industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, pricing, and cost estimation techniques
  • Proficiency in using quantity surveying software, such as Autodesk Quantity Takeoff and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and dispute resolution processes
