About the Role

As we expand across Southeast Asia, we are looking for a visionary Medical Director (SEA) to shape the region’s medical strategy, build high-performing clinical teams, and partner with business leaders to deliver exceptional care and drive sustainable growth.

The Medical Director (SEA) is a key member of the Teladoc Health Asia leadership team. This role combines clinical excellence, regional leadership, and commercial partnership to recruit, develop and manage a network of top medical experts and Primary Care Managers (PCMs) across SEA; drive medical quality, governance, and innovation across Teladoc’s care offerings in the region and partner with the Managing Director, Asia and commercial leaders to support business development, market expansion, and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the regional clinical strategy to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centric care at scale.
  • Establish and oversee clinical governance standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations across SEA markets.
  • Serve as the primary clinical voice for SEA, representing Teladoc Health to regulators, partners, and external stakeholders.

Team Building & Medical Workforce Development

  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor SEA-based physicians, specialists, and PCMs to build a world-class virtual care network.
  • Develop talent pipelines and leadership succession plans to support long-term regional growth.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation within the medical team.
  • Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Provide clinical expertise and credibility to support new business opportunities, client pitches, and strategic partnerships.
  • Partner with the Managing Director, Asia and sales / commercial teams to evaluate new service lines or regional market entries.
  • Align medical capabilities to evolving customer and payer needs, regulatory landscapes, and emerging health tech trends.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & External Representation

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional regulators, medical associations, key opinion leaders, and partner networks.
  • Represent Teladoc Health at industry events, conferences, and clinical innovation forums to enhance brand presence.
  • Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD, MBBS, or equivalent); board certification preferred.
  • 10+ years’ clinical experience, including 5+ years in medical leadership across multiple SEA countries.
  • Proven track record in building and managing regional medical teams (physicians, specialists, PCMs).
  • Strong understanding of SEA healthcare systems, regulations, and virtual care delivery models.
  • Experience supporting business development and strategic commercial partnerships in healthcare or health tech.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
