Responsibilities
Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables (Single-mode and multi-mode).
Perform OTDR, power meter, and light source testing.
Troubleshoot and repair fiber network issues including physical and signal problems.
Route and secure fiber optic cables in buildings and through outdoor environments.
Maintain documentation of network layouts, connections, test results, and splicing records.
Interpret and work from construction drawings, network diagrams, and blueprints.
Conduct site surveys for route planning, risk assessment, and resource estimation.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and industry best practices.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to meet project timelines.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Plan and coordinate fiber optic installation activities, including route planning, resource allocation, and scheduling.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance.
Candidates with valid CA1C and CA2C certificates from Telekom Malaysia are highly preferred and will be prioritized for TM-related projects.
Proficient in fiber splicing, OTDR, and loss testing.
Familiar with TM installation standards and documentation.
Able to use hand tools, fusion splicers, and test equipment.
Competent in interpreting fiber network drawings and TM standard operating procedures.
Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
