Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet the hotel's cleanliness and hygiene standards. This role involves supervising housekeeping staff, conducting inspections, and coordinating with other hotel departments to provide high-quality guest experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Housekeeping Operations & Supervision
Supervise and coordinate the work of housekeeping staff, including room attendants and public area attendants.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure efficient workflow.
Conduct regular inspections of rooms, corridors, and common areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
Guest Satisfaction & Service Quality
Ensure all guest rooms are cleaned and prepared according to hotel standards.
Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints regarding housekeeping services.
Ensure VIP and special requests are handled with extra attention to detail.
Training & Team Management
Train new and existing housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and hotel policies.
Motivate and guide team members to maintain high standards of service.
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for improvement.
Inventory & Supplies Management
Ensure adequate stock of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and linens.
Monitor and control the usage of cleaning materials to avoid wastage.
Report damaged or missing items in guest rooms to the maintenance or front office team.
Health, Safety & Hygiene Compliance
Ensure compliance with hotel safety and sanitation standards.
Train staff on proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Report any health or safety hazards immediately to management.
Coordination with Other Departments
Work closely with the front office team to manage room status updates.
Coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs and maintenance of hotel facilities.
Assist in planning for high-occupancy periods, events, and VIP guest stays.
Perform any other ad-hoc matters assigned by superior and / or the management.
Education & Experience
Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field.
Minimum 1-2 years of housekeeping experience in the related field.
Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and industry standards.
Attention to detail and strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
