We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to join our Technology team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you’ll lead our software development team through the exciting challenges of building scalable, secure solutions. In this role, you'll combine your technical expertise with leadership skills to drive team performance, mentor talented engineers, and deliver high-quality software that makes a real impact.

We are hiring for this role in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We work in a hybrid model, and you can work from home most of the time, but we'd love to see you in the office in Eco City once or twice a week.

Key responsibilities in this role :

• Lead and mentor a software development team, ensuring constant and optimal delivery velocity.
• Plan and manage backlogs effectively, maintaining high‑quality sprint planning and prioritization.
• Provide technical expertise and hands‑on support in design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Estimate work effort, identify technical risks, and contribute to improving development processes.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders, product managers, and designers to align on technical and functional requirements.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of customer issues and production incidents.
• Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability are integral to all designs.
• Promote modern tools and practices, driving continuous improvement in engineering culture.
