This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Purchasing Manager located in Impain Emas, Johor Bahru. The Assistant Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing the purchasing activities, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring optimal inventory levels. The role involves negotiating contracts, maintaining accurate purchase records, and supporting supply chain operations. Additionally, the Assistant Purchasing Manager will work closely with the warehouse team and other departments to ensure timely delivery and quality control of products.
Job Description
- Ensure the timely ordering of day-to-day requisitions.
- Maintain complete updated purchasing records / data and pricing in the system.
- Responsible for preparation and processing purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Source for suppliers based on competitive cost, quality, delivery performance.
- Negotiate for best purchasing package (in terms of quality, price, term delivery and service) with suppliers.
- Maintain and build relations with new and existing suppliers.
- Monitor and coordinate deliveries of items between suppliers and ensure timely delivery to the warehouse.
- Liaise with supplier to ensure all related documents required for Halal, HACCP, GMP etc are obtained in a timely manner.
- Verify the processing flow for goods receiving items at the warehouse to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.
- Coordinate with the operation team to resolve any discrepancies in quantity, quality, or documentation during item receiving.
- Keep track of supplier's performance for periodical review.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports analyzing vendor performance and department KPI.
- Any other ad-hoc duties assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Diploma or equivalent in Logistics or Supply Chain Management with at least 4 years of related working experience.Proficiency in Mandarin and English are required to liaise effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.Proficient in using WMS and Autocount.Experience in F&B is an added advantage.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Possesses strong interpersonal skills.Willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.Seniority level
