As a key member of the OETA team, the Technical Advisor will provide authoritative guidance on Deepwater installation operations. The role exists to govern methodologies, review and approve procedures and ensure compliance with international standards, thereby ensuring safe and successful execution of Deepwater projects.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the final technical approver for Deepwater installation procedures, methodologies and equipment.
  • Review and approve installation procedures and method statements for pipelines and subsea structures.
  • Ensure activities comply with project specifications, Company standards and International codes (DNV, API, ISO).
  • Provide expert consultation to project and tender teams on methodologies and risk assessments (HAZID / HAZOP).
  • Offer troubleshooting and senior oversight during critical offshore phases.
  • Support operational excellence initiatives within the OETA department.
  • Advise on industry best practices for SURF, decommissioning and offshore windfarm installations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to governance and assurance processes to minimize project risks.
  • Drive technical innovation and improvements in offshore installation practices.

Qualifications / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering field.
  • Expert knowledge of Pipeline Installation and Structural Installation.
  • Deepwater Pipeline and SURF Installation.
  • 20 years in Oil & Gas with 10 – 15 years in Deepwater installation .
  • 1000+ verified offshore days.
  • Shallow Water SURF Installation.
  • Shore Approach (HDD, cofferdam, micro tunnel boring machine, RENTIS etc.).
  • Decommissioning of Structures & Pipelines (Deepwater, Shallow Water, SURF, FPSO, Reverse Lay etc.).

    • Required Skills

  • Expert knowledge of Pipeline Installation and Structural Installation.
  • Deepwater Pipeline and SURF Installation expertise.
  • Knowledge of shallow water SURF installation and decommissioning practices.
  • Understanding of monopile / windfarm installation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (DNV, API, ISO).
