What a typical day looks like

• Responsible for supporting the development, implementation and management of global strategies to provide Flex segments and business groups with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance (focus on Mechanical commodities). Work closely with the Supply Chain team / Local Management to communicate and implement strategies, contracts and pricing to all regions with a focus on maintaining good supplier relationships and minimum costs to maximize advantage for the company and customers.
• Establish and manage long-term strategic and core supplier relationships and engage with Flex sites and business segments.
• Guide the selection, development and management of Core and Strategic Suppliers to meet commodity costs and performance goals.
• Organize and manage the commodity team with a focus on talent acquisition, retention and development and performance appraisal.
• Implement programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management and supply base optimization.
• Provide Quotation centers with support from core and strategic suppliers to obtain competitive and timely quotes.
• Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply / demand challenges. Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to Flex customers as appropriate.
• Collaborate with Customer Supply Chain Managers and Product Introduction centers to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs.
• Provide access to leading technology, product roadmaps, technology strategies and industry trends.
• Provide point of escalation for Commodity issues as appropriate.
• Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
