About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS Executive / Officer to join our team at EKO Metal Industries Sdn Bhd in Bukit Mertajam, Penang and also in Sungai Petani, Kedah. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and management of our comprehensive environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs across the organization.

1 position based in Juru, Penang

1 position based in Sungai Petani, Kedah

Responsibilities

  • Daily Plant Safety rounding.
  • Training & Development & EHS Management.
  • Auditing Production - keeping an eye out for any unsafe behaviors or breaks in regulations.
  • Assessing risk and possible safety hazards of all aspects of operation.
  • Inspecting production equipment & processes to ensure safe operation.
  • Ordering repairs for unsafe and / or damaged equipment.
  • Participating in continuing education to update knowledge of health and safety protocols and techniques.
  • Meeting company health & safety goals.
  • Investigating causes of accidents and other unsafe conditions on the job site.
  • Finding the best way to prevent future accidents. Monitor statistics and analysis.
  • Sharing information, suggestions, and observations to create consistency in safety standards throughout the production team and entire company.
  • Process safety improvement.
  • Ensure licensing renewal for Company and Safety acts; MPBOMBA / DOSH / DOE.
  • RBA audit - third party report and analysis.
  • Support ISO 14001.
  • Any other tasks assigned by superior or HOD.

Qualifications

  • BSc / BA or Diploma in safety management or any other relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in manufacturing industry as safety role.
  • Proficient in MS Office / Excel / PowerPoint; working knowledge of safety management information system.
  • Certificate in COURSE FOR CERTIFIED ENVIRONMENTAL PROFESSIONAL IN SCHEDULED WASTE MANAGEMENT – CePSWaM would be an added value.
  • Certificate in Safety Health Officer is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
