This role offers an exciting opportunity to support a unique personal journey : documenting and promoting a 2,200km run around Peninsula Malaysia. The Social Media Manager will play a key part in shaping the digital narrative of this adventure, creating engaging content, and building an online community. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, experienced in social media strategy, and understands how to connect with diverse audiences. This is a remote position open to candidates based in Malaysia, with a commitment of more than one week.

Deliverables

  • Develop and execute a content plan to document the running journey across multiple social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
  • Capture, edit, and publish photos, videos, and stories that highlight key moments and milestones
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments, and foster a supportive online community
  • Monitor analytics to optimize content performance and audience reach
  • Collaborate closely with the project owner to ensure authenticity and alignment with the project’s vision

Requirements

  • Based in Malaysia with the ability to work remotely
  • Proven experience managing social media accounts, preferably for personal brands or adventure projects
  • Strong skills in content creation, including photography, videography, and editing
  • Proficiency with social media management tools and analytics platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Malay is a plus
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for visual storytelling
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to a dynamic project schedule
  • Availability for a commitment of more than one week
