Assistant Manager Finance

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the full spectrum of accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities to ensure proper financial reporting.
  • Monitor daily financial operations and cash flow management, ensuring adequate liquidity and efficient fund utilization.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, tax computations, and audit schedules.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of bank accounts, supplier and customer statements.
  • Liaise and coordinate with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and other external parties on accounting, audit, and tax matters.
  • Evaluate and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to maintain high standards of performance and accountability.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to management to support strategic business decisions.
  • Perform other related duties or ad-hoc assignments as required by management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or audit, including strong hands‑on experience in AP, AR, and GL functions; at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide subordinates.
  • Mature, proactive, and result‑driven with a positive working attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting systems.
