About The Department
UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a wholly‑owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Founded in 2021, InnoHub2 is expanding beyond technology services to deliver new business services that support the Bank’s growth ambition. The team offers opportunities to work on Group initiatives and gain regional business exposure.
Job Responsibilities
- Handle change requests for Linux / UNIX systems.
- Perform Linux / UNIX server takeover process and security hardening compliance verification processes.
- Support rectification of security hardening failures for Linux / UNIX servers in accordance with the established Bank’s Security Standards.
- Carry out rectification of password change failures for privileged accounts.
- Perform audit extraction and review for Linux / UNIX systems.
- Write documentation (Security Standards, Access Control Baseline, Processes).
- Responsible for Linux / UNIX security hardening in accordance with the established Bank’s Security Standards.
- Assess the security access control for bank-wide Linux / UNIX servers by performing pre‑production compliance checking.
- Periodically conduct user access review for systems and applications.
- Provide technical expertise in Linux / UNIX security matters and work closely with Application Development team to establish and develop application access control matrix.
- Grant and assign access privileges based on the approved access control matrix.
- Troubleshoot access and privilege issues, identify and rectify issues, and properly escalated to management.
- Provide technical guidance and advisory on Linux / UNIX platform security matters.
- Implement and administer System Access Control using SUDO on Linux / UNIX platform.
- Responsible for Linux / UNIX privileged IDs lifecycle (on‑boarding to CyberArk Password Vault, rectification of privileged IDs password change failures, and decommissioning of privileged IDs).
- Develop and establish access control baseline, processes and procedures to ensure the open system environment is properly and accurately secure in accordance with regulatory, bank and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and third‑party service providers / vendors.
- Manage a variety of priorities and deliverables in an operational, interrupt‑driven environment with minimal guidance or supervision.
- Resolve standard / routine problems with no guidance and complex / unusual issues with minimal guidance.
- Willingness to perform on‑call duties as required.
Job Requirements
Diploma / Degree in engineering / Computer Science / IT / Cyber Security from a recognized institution.Professional security related qualification (e.g., SANS, CISSP, CISA, CISM) is favourable but not mandatory.Overall experience 5–7 years.Minimum 5+ years strong experience with Linux (Red Hat, Suse, CentOS) and UNIX (Solaris, AIX) Security Administration.Preferably have system administration experience on Windows, Database and Network devices.Good communication skills with ability to influence others and provide recommendations.Ability to write documentation (Security Standards, Access Control Baseline, Processes).Experience in software configuration management tools (Chef) and log monitoring tools (Splunk) is a plus.Good stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments.Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.Good understanding of security principles, banking products and services.Be a part of UOB Family
