General Job Scope of a Sales Assistant
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide product information and recommendations based on customer needs.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
Assist customers in making purchases and completing transactions.
Upsell or cross-sell products to increase sales.
Process payments via cash, card, or other payment systems.
Meet or exceed daily / weekly / monthly sales targets.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of all products or services offered.
Stay updated on new product releases, promotions, and policies.
Replenish stock on shelves and ensure products are well-presented.
Conduct stock counts and report inventory discrepancies.
Assist in receiving and organizing new stock deliveries.
Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing.
Arrange product displays and promotional signage.
Handle customer orders, returns, and exchanges.
Maintain records of sales and customer interactions (in some roles).
Use POS (Point-of-Sale) systems and sometimes CRM software.
