In this Role, you’ll get to

  • Act as the ER subject matter expert for the SEA region, providing consultation on labor environments, employment practices, and regulatory trends.
  • Design and implement ER strategies that reinforce company values and promote an inclusive, compliant, and positive work environment.
  • Support HR team in end-to-end ER case management from fact-finding, investigations, and hearing preparations to documentation, resolution, and closure in accordance with global procedures.
  • Assist to draft and issue disciplinary / warning / termination letters, prepare investigation summaries, and ensure accurate and timely recording of hearing proceedings.
  • Collaborate with Country HRs, BU HRBPs, Legal and business stakeholders to assess risks, review cases, and implement proactive interventions.
  • Monitor local labor market developments, government policies, and union activities to identify risks and provide early alerts and recommendations.
  • Support labor audits, inspections, or dispute resolutions, representing the company or providing critical support to legal counsel where required.
  • Coach and upskill people managers on ER practices, including performance management, grievance handling, underperformance, harassment, or redundancy through structured training or ad hoc consultations.
  • Generate ER insights from case data and trends to drive continuous improvement in policies, processes, and culture.
  • Champion a “lead with empathy” approach, balancing compliance requirements with employee experience in every decision.

What you'll Need to Succeed

  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor law and HR compliance practices; exposure to other SEA markets is highly advantageous.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on ER experience in a fast‑paced, multinational or service‑driven environment (e.g. tech, customer service centers, BPO, e‑commerce).
  • Proven ability in handling complex ER cases, including investigations, performance issues, grievances, disciplinary actions, or termination procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting official ER documentation, such as warning letters, suspension notices, termination papers, and investigation reports.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Additional SEA languages are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and investigative mindset, with attention to detail and structured documentation.
  • High sense of integrity, urgency, confidentiality, and fairness, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working with sensitive matters requiring discretion and maturity.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
