High Voltage Electrical Resident Engineer - Data Center (132kV / 257kV) – Contract

Responsibilities
- Resident Electrical Engineer to report to the Lead Project Manager and provide feedback to the Client.
- Resident Electrical Engineer on site to assist the Client and General Contractor on construction of the projects in a timely manner.
- Conduct daily site walks to review progress, general quality of works, raise quality observations and provide updates to the project team.
- Review the agreed Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) which will be developed by the General Contractor and provided to the Resident Engineer. Direction on quality and design to be directly through the Client.
- Attend project meetings, and set up ad-hoc meetings with the GC / Design Consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Inspect trenches, pits, voids, cable trays / raceways, jointing, panels and cabling terminations as per the ITP.
- Provide weekly reports on site progress including metrics on mock-ups / benchmarks, RFIs, and technical updates.
- Conduct equipment installation to ensure all equipment is installed as per approved shop drawings and technical specifications.
- Prepare Installation Inspection Reports (IIR) highlighting any non-conformance and follow up with the contractor for rectification and close-out.
- Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) to the General Contractor with information to the Construction Manager where the contractor is not complying with project contract drawings, approved shop drawings and specifications; follow up for timely closure of NCRs.
- Highlight any critical risks on the construction schedule in the reporting.
- Monitor General Contractor’s construction activities and log activities in a weekly report.
- Verify all work in place conforms to contract documents. Input discrepancies into Procore and note in the weekly report.
- Verify As-Built drawings and BIM model have been created, regularly updated, and uploaded into Procore by the General Contractor.
- Attend Client, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) weekly meetings. A CMS representative must physically attend; other representatives may attend physically or virtually. Topics to be discussed during the OAC meeting.
- In coordination with the GC’s QC Plan, attend and provide input to the meetings.
- Manage Procore workflow, ensure information is up to date, and track the submittal register.
- Assess GC means and methods for compliance with the most stringent requirements of applicable global, national, and local standards, and promptly notify the Client of any deficiencies.
- Evaluate proper protection levels during construction for equipment and systems and ensure the GC maintains the Client's minimum standards as outlined in the Equipment Protection Plan.
- Verify that the final installed product has been installed, checked, inspected, and signed off to proceed into commissioning.
- Record each defect / issue as an Observation in Procore and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Communicate safety observations to GCs daily and engage to ensure issues are addressed and closed; record findings in Procore.
- Participate in GC incident investigations and ensure root cause is established with effective control measures.
- Attend GC safety committee meetings.
- Monitor and coordinate the interactions of separate contractors on site with the base building, site developer (if any), and Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment suppliers; prevent scheduling conflicts and interference among the project team.
Qualifications
BS degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.15 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with data center or substations experience, or advanced manufacturing projects.High voltage experience of 132 kV and above.Advanced knowledge and proven delivery on electrical systems and scopes.Understanding of the implications of design changes / site instructions for the above areas.Excellent written and verbal communication in English; presentation skills are a must.Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with challenging timelines, budgets and goals.Ability to work in a close, multi-faceted team environment.Inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and willingness to continuously learn.Ability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and execution.Company and Equal Opportunity
