Senior Electrical Drafter (Construction) - KL

Our client is a leading Electrical Engineering company (ST Class A & CIDB G7) and they are hiring an experienced Senior Electrical Drafter. You will be a key member of their design team, responsible for creating precise drawings for electrical, lighting, and ELV systems across commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects.

About the Job

Develop and prepare a full range of electrical drawings, including construction, installation, shop, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD. Translate electrical design specifications into accurate technical layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Collaborate with engineers, consultants, and multi-disciplinary teams (MEP, structural, architectural) to ensure seamless drawing integration and resolve discrepancies. Conduct rigorous reviews of all drawings to verify accuracy, compliance with standards, and consistency throughout the project lifecycle. Manage and maintain an organized system for drawing archives, revision control, and documentation. Prepare and update technical documents and drawings for Bill of Quantities (BOQ) submissions. Proactively develop coordination drawings to identify and mitigate potential clashes before construction begins. Ensure all drafting work adheres to company quality standards, project schedules, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Skills / Requirements

  • Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in electrical drafting, preferably within a contractor or engineering consultant environment.
  • Expert proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit or other BIM software is a significant advantage.
  • In‑depth knowledge of electrical symbols, industry drafting standards, and local regulations.
  • Proven ability to read and accurately interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Meticulous attention to detail combined with excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with project managers, engineers, and external partners.
