Overview

South Island Garment Sdn. Bhd. (SIG), a proud subsidiary of Magni-Tech Industries Berhad, has been a cornerstone of the garment industry in Penang, Malaysia, since 1975. SIG specializes in manufacturing and serving as a strategic partner for one of the world’s largest athletic apparel companies. SIG mainly exports its products to international markets including the USA, European countries, South America, China, Japan, Mexico, Australia and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Data Management : Processing invoices, payments, and expense reports; maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers; and performing data entry into accounting software.
  • Reconciliation : Reconciling bank statements and other financial accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Administrative Support : Assist with general office tasks like filing, handling mail, answering phones, and managing documentation.
  • Communication : Serve as a point of contact for clients, vendors, and colleagues regarding financial queries, such as invoice statuses or payment details.
  • Ad-hoc tasks : Be prepared for ad-hoc tasks as required by superior from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Diploma with relevant experience and bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • High degree of accuracy and a meticulous approach to numbers.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities are needed to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
