Opportunity : Category Two (Cat 2) Certified Balouch (Balochi) and Urdu Linguist
Bottom Line Up Front : Hoplite Group is seeking a Cat 2 Certified Balouch (Balochi) and Urdu Linguist to support the Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) Transnational Crimes Unit (TCU) mission and operational requirements in Bahrain and other countries within the TCU Area of Responsibility (AOR). These missions range from deployments aboard coalition warships, to travel to partner nations to assist with interdictions and subject matter exchanges. Linguistic support is integral to TCU mission operations and continued success.
Location : The Linguist will support the facilitation of maritime interdictions of vessels trafficking illicit cargo throughout the NCIS Middle East Field Office (MEFO), U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) AORs. As such, the work to be performed under this contract will be performed at various locations within the coverage AOR and surrounding areas.
Level of Effort : The work schedule is typically a 5-day work week of 12 hours regular time / on-call status (Sunday through Thursday).
Availability : Base contract begins 1 / 9 / 2026 and extends through 1 / 8 / 2027 with an option to continue through 1 / 8 / 2028.
Objective : Execute the following job responsibilities in support of the NCIS TCU :
- Provide on-site Title III translation, transcription, interpretation, and monitoring services at government facilities
- Translate and interpret conversations from face-to-face interactions
- Translate or transcribe verbal and written documentation into approved formats for the COR
- Deploy on missions with TCU teams and support maritime operations (boarding and transfers)
- Maintain readiness to respond quickly to operational taskings in Bahrain and the broader TCU AOR
- Ensure possession and upkeep of required equipment and supplies, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Comply with Defense Base Act insurance requirements and provide proof upon request
- Support mission readiness by undergoing required medical and language testing, as well as country-specific entry / work requirements
- Coordinate with TCU and adhere to operational standards, including additional training provided before operations
- Must be reachable by phone for short-notice missions
- Maintain on-call availability to respond to short fuse taskings
