As part of Allianz Technology SE's global Legal and data privacy Function, you will advise the company's business segment Allianz Services in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on all legal areas (except tax law and labor law) and act as local data privacy officer (DPO). You will provide business-oriented legal advice to enable the Allianz Services business as well as safeguard the interests of the company, to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations and to counsel senior management. Allianz Services is part of Allianz Group, one of the world's leading insurers and asset managers and has succeeded in becoming one individual business segment by combining various businesses from different parent companies. Allianz Services is running service delivery operations in Malaysia, Romania, India, Mauritius and Morocco as well as is operating Consulting hubs in Germany, USA, Italy, France and Singapore with more than 8000 colleagues globally. The headquarter is located in Germany.
What You Do
- Local lead lawyer to provide business oriented legal advice with respect to all aspects of law (except tax and labor law), including commercial law matters and corporate law (corporate secretary); antitrust law experience a plus.
- Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements, in particular global service agreements, vendor agreements, and other partnership agreements.
- Local DPO : Prepare the roll out of Allianz Data Privacy Trainings, Data Privacy awareness campaigns and initiate and oversee and review Privacy assessments (Data Register & Privacy Impact Assessments).
- Implement all necessary Data Privacy Control Frameworks and participate in reporting to company management. Represents the local entity in the relationship with local Data Privacy Supervisory Authority.
- Informing, advising and issuing recommendations to the local management regarding compliance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations, the Allianz Privacy Standard (APS) and Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs), and other internal standards and guidelines, including ensuring these standards and guidelines are appropriately maintained, and providing direction on all aspects of data protection compliance.
- Raise the level of awareness and understanding in the business for legal issues, risks and mitigation measures and act as a bridge between functions and the business for handling legal challenges.
- Stay abreast of legal developments and industry trends to provide proactive legal advice and support.
- Develop and maintain legal templates and team know-how and contribute to upskilling the Legal Function not only regarding legal expertise, but also regarding technical solutions and developments (e.g. GenAI).
- Oversee and steer external legal counsels, where applicable.
What You Bring
Malaysian qualified lawyer (from a top tier accredited institution) and data privacy expert (Data Privacy Certifications (IAPP) would be a plus).English : business fluent.At least 10 years of proven experience in providing legal counsel within an international law firm and preferably international inhouse environment.Experience as a Corporate Secretary.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to legal challenges.A strong interest in constant upskilling & learning.Strong negotiation and communication skills and a positive, pragmatic, and dynamic approach to legal practice.Allianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
