We invite high-calibre candidates to fill the following position in Malaysia.
LinkedIn : Duties
Understand location and project nature to identify the environmental risk / aspect
Identify the legal and contractual requirement
Check for possible adversely effect on environment norms and levels prior to commencement of construction / project activities
Note baseline readings of environmental factors such as noise, vibration, ground water quality, soil quality, marine water, emissions, biological & physical characteristics, social impact and livelihood impact.
Prepare and submit the environment management plan for approval
Verify alignment of all legal and contractual compliances with the environment law and contractual requirements specified by client
Apply for all relevant environment permits as needed
Provide support to Design & Construction team to adhere to environment norms and ISO 14001 EMS standards; Take samples on site and drive environment related compliances by team; Report non-compliances if any.
Monitor all environment factors and take measurements periodically based on management plan
Analyse daily and monthly reports to determine any trends, significant changes in any factors
Review non-compliance and take corrective action against the observations; Devise Corrective & Preventive Action Plans (CAPA) to prevent recurrence
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in environmental management / occupational safety & health or relevant
At least 5 years and above experience
Familiarity with :
Environmental Quality Act 1974
DOE Malaysia regulations
Scheduled Waste Regulations
ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
Ability to conduct : Environmental audits
Risk assessments
Sustainability initiatives
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in report writing and data analysis
