RCR Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Remote Benefits & Payroll Support Specialist to provide high-quality administrative and operational support to our virtual HR consulting team. This role will focus on payroll processing, auditing client accounts, and assisting with benefits administration for multiple clients across diverse industries. The position is fully remote and you can reside in any geographic location but you must be able to work during standard U.S. business hours.
The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, fully remote environment while maintaining excellent communication with both internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Support the HR consulting team in processing weekly, biweekly, and monthly payrolls for multiple client organizations
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of employee hours, deductions, and tax withholdings
- Verify payroll data and resolve discrepancies in coordination with clients and payroll providers
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all payroll‑related regulations
Account Auditing & Reconciliation
Audit payroll and benefits accounts for accuracy and compliancePrepare reports and summaries highlighting discrepancies, adjustments, or recommendationsCollaborate with consultants to ensure accurate record‑keeping and compliance with HR and financial policiesBenefits Administration
Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations in client systemsCommunicate with insurance carriers and benefit vendors to resolve employee inquiries and issuesTrack eligibility, coverage changes, and open enrollment activitiesAdministrative Support
Maintain organized digital records and databases for client HR and payroll informationPrepare HR and payroll documentation, reports, and summaries for client reviewProvide general administrative support to consulting staff, including scheduling, data entry, and client correspondenceQualifications
Experience : 2+ years of experience in HR, payroll processing, or benefits administration (multi‑client or consulting environment preferred)Technical Skills :Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto, or similar)
Strong Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace skillsFamiliarity with HRIS and benefits platformsKnowledge :Understanding of U.S. payroll laws, benefits regulations, and compliance requirements
Experience with auditing and reporting best practicesSoft Skills :Strong attention to detail and organization
Excellent written and verbal communicationAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a remote work environmentPreferred Qualifications
Experience supporting HR consulting or professional services teamsBasic understanding of accounting or finance principlesCertification such as FPC, CPP, or SHRM‑CP (a plus but not required)Work Schedule
