RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Engage in direct contact and teaching time with students individually, in small groups,
- or in class settings, and develop tailored learning activities.
- Demonstrates exceptional ability to design, plan, implement, and consistently review progress reports with precision and dedication, including the development of comprehensive Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and impactful Early Intervention Programs (EIPs)
- Prepare comprehensive reports, such as Emotional Behavior Reports, Monthly Progress Reports, Bi-Monthly Report and Term Progress Reports, to track and support studentdevelopment.empowering students to achieve their personal and responsibilities in their child's development and education.objectives, and teaching methods.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team—including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech-Language Therapists, and Interventionists—to conduct comprehensive classroom assessments.
- Implement inclusive educational strategies and techniques within special education,
- Regularly meet and collaborate with parents, providing guidance and clarity on them
- Collaborate effectively with other staff members to plan and align instructional goals,
SKILLS REQUIRED :
Patience and Empathy : Working with students who have special needs requires a highlevel of patience and understanding. Empathy allows teachers to connect with themstudents' challenges, supporting them with sensitivity and care.Adaptability and Flexibility : SEN teachers need to adapt lessons, communicationstyles, and support methods according to the individual needs of each student, oftenchanging approaches in real-time to match students' unique learning styles.Strong Communication Skills : Effective communication is key, not only with studentsbut also with parents, caregivers, and other educational staff. Clear communicationhelps ensure everyone involved understands the student's progress, needs, andstrategies.Collaborative Teamwork : SEN teachers often work as part of a multidisciplinary team,which may include other teachers, therapists, counselors, and aides. Collaboration isessential to provide a well-rounded support system for each student.Organizational Skills : Managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and EarlyIntervention Programs (EIP).setting learning goals, tracking progress, and tailoring materials requires strongorganizational skills to stay on top of each student's specific plan and needs.Knowledge of Special Education Practices and Laws : Familiarity with special educationlaws, policies, and best practices is critical.
