This is an excellent opportunity to join AFA GROUP as a MANAGER, LEGAL. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters across AFA Group, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks, and supporting strategic business objectives. This includes providing legal guidance across the Group's core operations in highway concession management, toll collection systems, and infrastructure maintenance. The role also involves supervising legal staff, managing external counsel, and ensuring sound corporate governance and contract practices.. This is a contract position based in Batu Caves, Selangor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic & Managerial Responsibilities

Lead the Group's legal function, ensuring legal compliance across all business units and operational areas.

Supervise and mentor the Legal Executive, ensuring effective task execution and professional development.
Provide legal advice to senior management on regulatory matters, operational risks, and strategic initiatives.
Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies to ensure efficient legal support.

Support corporate transactions, partnerships, and restructuring activities with legal due diligence and documentation.

Operational Responsibilities

Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and agreements relevant to concession management, toll operations, vendor services, and maintenance activities.

Monitor and ensure compliance with laws and regulations applicable to infrastructure operations, public-private partnerships, and corporate governance.

Manage legal disputes and litigation, including coordination with external counsel and preparation of case documentation.

Conduct legal research and provide sound legal opinions on matters affecting the Group's operations and strategic direction.

Develop and implement internal legal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.

Maintain organized legal documentation and records in accordance with legal and corporate standards.

Prepare legal reports and updates for senior management and the Board of Directors.

Provide legal training and awareness programs to internal stakeholders on relevant legal topics.

Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards in all legal dealings.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B. Honours) from a recognized university.

Admission to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.

Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in corporate, commercial, or regulatory law are an advantage.

Minimum 7-10 years of legal experience, preferably in corporate, infrastructure, or regulated industries.

Proven track record in managing legal teams and handling complex legal matters.

Strong exposure to regulatory compliance, contract law, corporate governance, and dispute resolution
