Our work consistently revolves around the theme of Making, Innovation, Technology, and Education. We are seeking individuals with a strong desire for learning to help redefine the future of education through an innovative lens.
As a Data & Automation Engineer, you will be at the core of how we use technology to scale education impact. We are looking for a hands-on engineer who can design and build data pipelines, automate workflows, and develop scalable systems to support our education programs, operations, and data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving problems with code, streamlining data operations, and enabling automation that improves efficiency and impact — while being empathetic to the real-world needs of educators, learners, and communities we serve.
In essence, we are looking for a Data & Automation Engineer who will be able to :
Commit for a minimum of 1 year
Data Infrastructure & Pipelines : Design and implement robust data ingestion, transformation, and storage pipelines using tools such as Python, SQL, and cloud platforms.
Automation Design & Development : Build automation solutions and internal tools that streamline manual tasks, improve operational efficiency, and ensure consistent data handling across education programmes.
Systems Integration : Connect and sync various platforms (e.g. LMS, LXP, Google Sheets, APIs, School Management System, PostgresSQL, Firebase, Open AI, etc.) to ensure seamless flow of information.
Deployment : Set up and maintain automated jobs, schedulers (e.g. cron, Airflow), and lightweight cloud infrastructure to ensure reliable system performance.
Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with analysts, program leads, and educators to understand data needs and engineer solutions that meet real-world challenges.
Reporting and Visualization : Design and prepare comprehensive data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with account managers, account leads, and other team members to integrate data-driven approaches into program design, implementation, and evaluation.
What to expect?
You'll work in a fast-paced, impact-oriented environment where your technical solutions will directly improve the effectiveness of real-world education programs.
Expect a mix of deep focus time to build systems, balanced with team check-ins, field input, and testing.
Be prepared to iterate and troubleshoot frequently—resilience and adaptability are key.
Much of the working day is spent in casual settings but do dress accordingly. Meetings with (potential) sponsors & high-ranking officers (from both corporate & government) may require a smart dress code.
Who are we looking for?
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
Strong ability to work effectively as part of a team
Strong development & investigative skills with Python ( must-have).
Ready to work with Google Apps Script, APIs, SQL, and cloud platforms (e.g. Supabase, Firebase, Google Cloud, or AWS).
Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines, version control (Git), and other basic DevOps practices.
Experience working with structured and unstructured data formats (e.g., JSON, CSV, SQL DBs, NoSQL DBs).
Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
A fast learner with a self-driven, "can-do" attitude
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
Working Hours
This is a hybrid role, with a mix of remote work and in-person collaboration. Typical working hours range from 37 to 45 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. Some projects may require weekend work, particularly during deployments or major program events.
