Overview To lead and oversee the structural engineering scope of project development as Owner’s Representative, ensuring that the EPC contractor delivers a design and execution that is safe, compliant, constructible, and aligned with project objectives. The candidate must be adaptable, technically sound, and capable of representing Owner interests in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review and approve structural engineering deliverables from the EPC contractor, focusing on hull-topside integration, module supports, and deck reinforcements.
Verify structural calculations, models, and reports prepared using tools such as SACS, MOSES, and SESAM, ensuring alignment with project requirements and Class rules.
Monitor structural works at the fabrication yard, ensuring technical compliance, constructability, and readiness for critical milestones such as lifting, load-out.
Provide structural engineering assurance and support during transition to the offshore integration site.
Act as focal point for structural interfaces with Class Societies (e.g., BV), EPCIC teams, naval architects, and internal project stakeholders.
Lead or participate in reviews of lifting and installation procedures, method statements, and risk assessments related to structural activities.
Attend design reviews, HAZID, and assist in resolving technical queries and NCRs raised by the yard or third-party contractors.
Requirements Experience
Minimum 10 years in offshore structural engineering.
At least 3 years in Owner or PMC role on FPSO or FLNG projects, ideally during execution or yard supervision phases.
Demonstrated understanding of shipyard and topside integration yard workflows and interface management for floating structures.
