Job Descriptions :

1. Operational Management

Monitor and control daily polishing operations during the assigned shift.
Ensure proper machine setup, parameter adjustment, and start-up / shutdown procedures.
Manage manpower allocation and job assignment across polishing stations.
Ensure production output meets quantity and surface quality requirements.

2. Equipment & Process Oversight

Supervise the operation of polishing machines, edge grinders, calibration units, and chamfering tools.

Troubleshoot machine problems and coordinate with maintenance for repairs or preventive action.

Monitor consumables usage (abrasives, water, polishing heads) and ensure timely replacement.

Ensure the correct sequence and speed of the polishing process to avoid defects or rework.

3. Quality and Compliance

Monitor tile surface finish (gloss, smoothness, edge quality) and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Coordinate with quality control teams for in-process inspection and sampling.

Investigate defects, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.

Maintain production and defect tracking logs for audit and reporting purposes.

4. Team Supervision & Safety

Supervise machine operators and helpers across the shift.

Provide on-the-job training and ensure compliance with SOPs and safety rules.

Conduct regular safety checks and report hazards or incidents.

Enforce housekeeping and 5S practices in the polishing area.

5. Coordination & Reporting

Liaise with kiln, inspection, packing, and maintenance departments to ensure process flow continuity.

Record shift production, breakdowns, quality issues, and manpower attendance in shift reports.

Attend or conduct shift handovers and communicate key operational updates to incoming shift personnel or supervisors.

Job Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or any related field.

Familiarity with polishing machines, surface finishing equipment, and process control.

Basic understanding of quality control tools and machine maintenance principles.

Good understanding of ceramic tile polishing processes and surface finishing standards.

Familiarity with polishing machine operation and minor mechanical troubleshooting.

Proficient in production tracking, data analysis, and report writing.

Strong leadership and team coordination abilities for shift-based work.

Good problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills.

Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word) and experience with ERP / production systems.

Knowledge of safety practices and PPE requirements in a production environment.

Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and under production pressure.
