Job Summary :
The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Head of Finance in managing end-to-end financial operations, reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, timely reporting, and alignment with strategic goals across internal functions and client-facing services. It also involves guiding junior finance staff and contributing to finance process improvements and system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Financial Operations & Reporting
- Review and finalize billing documents (invoices, credit / debit notes) prepared by the Billing Control Tower.
- Maintain accurate AR ledgers and generate debtor aging reports to support collection efforts.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, tax filings, and statutory submissions.
- Assist in coordinating external audits and managing audit documentation.
2. Treasury & Payment Oversight
Monitor and manage daily cash flow and liquidity planning.Process vendor payments, commission disbursements, and ensure proper financial postings.Ensure adherence to internal approval processes and banking controls.3. Compliance & Internal Controls
Implement finance SOPs, policies, and internal control measures.Ensure compliance with tax regulations (including SST, withholding tax, cross-border compliance).Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with audit and retention standards.4. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.Conduct variance analysis and financial performance tracking.Support cost control and margin improvement initiatives.5. System & Process Enhancement
Participate in accounting system implementation and digital process improvements.Ensure finance functions are aligned with e-invoicing and automation initiatives.6. Team & Stakeholder Support
Support training and development of junior finance staff.Liaise with internal teams (Commercial, Legal, Operations) and external consultants for financial alignment.Assist the Head of Finance in internal reporting, project costing, and ad hoc analysis.Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred.Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.Sound knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations, tax, and reporting standards.Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, SAP, or similar) and Excel.Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively.Job Type : Full-time
