Senior Data Analyst – foodpanda, Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

foodpanda is part of the Delivery Hero Group, a leading local delivery platform operating in 70+ markets. This high-visibility role directly impacts the growth of our markets by delivering actionable insights and advanced analytics solutions. You will work with senior stakeholders, mentor junior analysts, and shape the analytics function within one of our analytics teams.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced Data Modeling & Analysis : Lead the development of complex SQL models to transform large datasets into actionable insights, using tools like BigQuery and dbt.
  • Strategic Reporting & Visualization : Design and build dashboards (e.g., Looker, Tableau) that facilitate decision-making; define KPI frameworks and ensure metrics align with business objectives.
  • Exploratory and Strategic Analysis : Drive design and analysis of business problems with statistical rigor to inform operational decisions.
  • Mentorship & Development : Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts to enhance technical skills and foster collaboration.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand objectives, recommend analytics solutions, and present insights effectively.
  • Data Quality & Governance : Partner with data engineers and cross-functional teams to improve data integrity and governance across markets and data sources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics with a strong focus on SQL, data modeling, and data visualization.
  • 3+ years of experience with Commercial, Marketing or Logistics datasets and understanding of related business processes.
  • Proficiency with advanced SQL (BigQuery or similar DWH); experience with Looker or Tableau; familiarity with dbt is a plus.
  • Solid background in statistical analysis, including A / B testing and data modeling.
  • Experience leading or mentoring other analysts; ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently on complex projects and deliver high-impact results in a fast-paced environment.
