MGR I MFG & PROCESS DVL ENGINEERING

Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking a MGR II MFG & PROCESS DVL AUTOMATION for Data & Device BU with location in Penang. The MPDE Automation Manager will lead a team of automation engineers tasked with developing assembly processes for high-speed cable assemblies and coordinating with the Penang manufacturing engineering team on the transition to mass production.

Responsibilities

• Allocate and balance the allocation of work across direct reports; review and provide timely performance feedback to direct reports; mentor, develop and motivate them; help resolve people / functional issues in the team to achieve targeted performance and retain key talent.
• Lead a team of engineers who will : Develop cable assembly automation lines in accordance with LEANPD product development; Drive for excellence in existing automation technologies and methods; Strive to implement new automation technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control; Support Product Development in the optimization designs (DFM) and piece parts for automation manufacturability; realizes proof of concept tooling, product samples and prototypes; Design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE Data and Devices quality and production standards; Support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability.
• Act as the binding element between product development and automation engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.
• Maintain communication with project management team to understand current and future strategic business needs
• Prioritize and time manage a portfolio of projects / work efforts based on criticality and business need
• Provide readouts to Director and VP level cross function management as necessary
• Work with Penang operations team to assign resources necessary for the successful execution of new automation development
• Facilitate and coordinate cross-function communication across globally matrixed organization
