Senior Software Engineer – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Our client is a leading bank with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories. The Technology and Operations function comprises five teams with distinct capabilities : business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. The team delivers innovative financial technology solutions to enable business growth and technology transformation for banking services and operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance applications related to Local and Bill Payment in the Core Banking ecosystem.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, performance optimization, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with functional teams to support Cash Management, Rate Provision, GIRO, and Instant Payment solutions.
• Work on Remittance systems (good to have) to extend support across payment services.
• Perform RPG development and DB2 programming on AS400 systems.
• Participate in application maintenance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution at L3 level.
• Provide mentorship to junior developers and guide them on technical best practices.
• Support DevOps integration, deployment automation (ALDON), and ARCAD-based code management where applicable.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specs, and knowledge base.
