Position : Senior / Executive, Data Engineer

Company : Banking

Working Location : Jalan Tun Razak, KL

Working Hours : Monday to Friday (8.45am - 5.45pm)

Salary : RM 7000 - RM 12 000 (based on work experience)

Qualifications

Senior Executive :

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience in data engineering and distributed data systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Apache Hive, HBase, Kafka, Solr, Elasticsearch.
  • Proficient in data architecture, data modelling, and pipeline scheduling / orchestration.
  • Operational experience with Data Mesh, Data Product development, and hybrid cloud data platforms.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, including CRM system, and data sourcing / mapping strategies.
  • Proficient in managing metadata, glossary, and lineage tools like Apache Atlas

Executive :

  • Bachelor\u2019s degree or above in Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent.
  • 2–3 years of experience in data engineering or related roles (banking & insurance experience is a plus).
  • Good knowledge of relational databases and proficiency in SQL.
  • Basic to intermediate experience with Python (or Scala) for ETL / ELT pipelines.
  • Familiarity with distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Spark) and exposure to streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka) is advantageous.
  • Understanding of data lake / data warehouse concepts and modern formats (e.g., Parquet, Iceberg, Delta).

    • Requirements

    Senior Executive :

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and act as a reference point for data engineering and analytical solutions, especially in Data Products.
  • Develop and implement modern Data Engineering solutions aligned with industry best practices.
  • Drive DataOps / MLOps knowledge-sharing and collaboration across business and IT teams.
  • Translate conceptual and logical data models into efficient and maintainable physical data implementations

    • Executive :

  • Support the design, development and maintenance of automated data pipelines and workflows that deliver reliable and high-quality Data Products.
  • Assist in implementing best practices for data ingestion, transformation and curation to ensure downstream teams have timely access to accurate data.
  • Contribute to documentation, process improvements and adoption of emerging data tools under the guidance of senior engineers.
