Mechanical Design Engineer – Mpac Group

Location : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Purpose of the Role

To provide robust, effective product design solutions to the business to ensure the business meets its responsibilities to customers & regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level design output through thorough understanding of internal / external customer and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously apply innovative thought to ensure the company's design services offer maximum value to customers.
• Maintain commercial awareness to ensure design solutions are cost effective and scope changes align with SOP.
• Manage schedules and workload to meet delivery commitments.
• Ensure design output complies with SOP and regulatory requirements.
• Effectively communicate project status to Engineering Manager, customers and suppliers.
• Play a proactive role in the department's continuous improvement program.
• Provide engineering manager with required information to evaluate project performance relative to KPI’s.
• Communicate status to stakeholders to allow proactive planning.
• Act as technical support during internal and external design review meetings.
• Support commissioning activities as necessary, including FAT & SAT.
• Apply technical due diligence; perform FMEA, design studies, POP to mitigate risk.
• Collaborate with Project Manager on resource planning and milestone development.
