Overview
As a Signal Integrity Test and Validation Engineer, you will develop and validate server, storage, and communication products. Major responsibilities include signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) testing, providing support to customers, internal teams, and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Develop a signal integrity test and validation plan, including test scope, schedule estimation, and resource allocation, for server, storage, and communication platforms.
- Execute test items according to the plan on time; adjust timing as needed based on issues and troubleshooting.
- Inform the R&D team of problems encountered during test / validation and follow up to resolution.
- Collaborate on debugging, failure analysis, and fixes with the R&D team and other test engineers.
- Design and examine testing procedures to shorten testing times and broaden test coverage.
- Apply hardware board level testing knowledge and experience.
- Understand PC / Server / Storage structures from an electrical perspective; apply signal integrity theory in practice.
- Validate server platform key buses (FSB, Memory, LAN, USB, SATA, PCI Express, etc.).
- Classify and analyze server board signal groups.
- Operate measuring instruments (oscilloscopes, waveform generators, multimeters) and apply their basic principles.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and, if possible, leadership.
- Manage multiple tasks and workloads effectively.
Physical Demands
Normal office environment.Extended periods of sitting, visual concentration, and data analysis on computer displays.Repetitive manual movements (data entry, mouse use, etc.).Occasional travel may be required.Typical Experience
Minimum 3 years of hardware board-level testing experience.Deep understanding of PC / Server / Storage structures from an electrical perspective.Knowledge of signal integrity theory in practice.Practical understanding of server platform validation for buses such as FSB, Memory, LAN, USB, SATA, PCI Express, etc.Expertise in classifying and analyzing server board signal groups.Familiarity with measuring instruments (oscilloscopes, waveform generators, multimeters).Strong command of bus protocols and standards; strong problem-solving abilities; good teamwork; leadership preferred.Ability to handle multiple tasks and significant workloads.Typical Education
Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational requirements may vary by geography.
