Private cloud Appliance Administrator

Hands-on PCA Administrator to install, configure, operate and maintain Oracle Private Cloud Appliance environments. Responsible for compute / storage / network integration, lifecycle updates (firmware / OS / BIOS), virtualization management, capacity planning, backups / DR integration, automation, and 24x7 on-call support.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure and manage Oracle PCA hardware & software components (hosts, converged fabric, management domain).

Deploy and maintain virtualization stack (Oracle VM / KVM / VMware) and integrate with PCA management interfaces.

Lifecycle management : firmware, BIOS, BMC, OS image management, and platform patching following vendor guidance.

Monitor hardware health, capacity, resource consumption; plan and execute capacity upgrades.

Manage storage integration (SAN / NAS), iSCSI / Fibre Channel, and datastore provisioning.

Network integration : VLANs, MTU, TOR config, management and tenant networks.

Implement backups and disaster recovery with DBAs and backup teams (ZDLRA / NetBackup etc.).

Troubleshoot hardware / software faults and manage SR escalations with vendors.

Maintain runbooks, SOPs, change-control, and perform maintenance windows with rollback procedures.

Automate routine tasks (image deployments, health checks, patch orchestration) with scripts / Ansible / Terraform.

Must-Have Qualifications

Degree / diploma in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience.

3+ years in infrastructure operations with 1–2 years hands-on managing PCA or similar converged infrastructure.

Strong Linux administration (Oracle Linux / RHEL) and shell scripting (bash / python).

Experience with virtualization platforms (Oracle VM, KVM, or VMware).

Networking fundamentals : VLANs, MTU, LACP, routing basics and troubleshooting.

Incident management experience and working with vendor support (SR escalation).

Willing to be on-call for maintenance windows.

Nice-to-Have

Direct PCA / Oracle Fabric Manager experience and familiarity with PCA models.

Experience with Oracle Cloud at Customer / OCI integrations.

Automation skills : Ansible, Terraform, Python orchestration.

Knowledge of backup appliances (ZDLRA, NetBackup) and RMAN integration.

Monitoring tools experience : OEM / Cloud Control, Grafana, Prometheus.
