  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • WHAT YOU WILL DO :
  • The Facilities Engineering Executive is responsible for the direct management and supervision of daily operations and maintenance activities across all building facilities. The role ensures that all systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently to support the organization's infrastructure and service requirements.The breakdown of facilities being managed is as follows :
  • Mechanical and Instrumentation Section
  • – Covers the air conditioning system for climate control, the building automation system for centralised monitoring, the fire protection system for safety, and the water treatment system for clean water supply.
  • Building and Infrastructural Section
  • – Includes the sewerage system for waste management, the domestic water and plumbing system for distribution and sanitation, the water filtration system for quality enhancement, and building repair works to maintain structural integrity.
  • Electrical Installation and Equipment Section
  • – Comprises the high-tension (HT) utility power system, UPS for uninterrupted power, battery monitoring for backup reliability, standby generators for emergency power, and lighting systems for visibility and safety.In addition, this role involves providing technical consultancy and supervision for both existing and new installations across various projects, facilities, and initiatives, including support for annual inspections.This job also requires a sound understanding of local authority requirements, including those from BOMBA, Air Selangor, TNB, DBKL, JKKP, DOE, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission), consultants, and other departments relevant to the operational needs of the premises.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 1. Operational Management
  • Manage maintenance personnel in the operation and upkeep of facility systems.
  • Evaluate the quality and quantity of work performed by maintenance staff, and recommend improvements to procedures and standards when necessary.
  • Resolve day-to-day management and technical issues.
  • Handle sourcing processes for low-value purchase orders and manage goods receipt (GR) procedures.
  • Balance work responsibilities with family life, especially during major shutdowns typically conducted at night.
  • Offer technical and manpower assistance to the Regional Office as required.
  • 2. Staff Management
  • Schedule maintenance staff work hours to meet departmental needs.
  • Train staff to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision.
  • Foster team spirit and enhance overall departmental performance.
  • Assess and evaluate staff performance and recommend appropriate actions.
  • 3. Maintenance Activities
  • Schedule preventive maintenance for all hardware based on operational workloads and system availability.
  • Plan and organise effective maintenance systems to ensure smooth operation and energy conservation across electrical, infrastructural, and mechanical systems.
  • Prepare clear and concise maintenance activity reports for management.
  • 4. Project Management
  • Manage and coordinate projects, including site preparation and installation of new equipment or upgrades.
  • Plan project-related activities in alignment with operational requirements and obtain necessary management approvals.
  • REQUIREMENTS :
  • WHO YOU ARE :
  • Possess a High or Medium Voltage Chargeman Certificate (BO 11kV) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in building operations.
  • At least 5 years of experience in predictive and preventive building maintenance.
  • Ability to respond to emergency breakdowns and work on-call as required.
  • Prior experience in a similar setup, such as broadcasting facilities or data centre building maintenance management.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proven experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with local authority requirements and license renewals, including Fire Certificates, Suruhanjaya Tenaga installation licenses, and other permits relevant to the operational needs of the premises.
  • Language and Communication Skills
  • Fluent in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Able to write effectively in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Fair understanding of the Electricity Supply Act and building by-laws.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels. Good computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiar with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Acts.
  • Able to support and coordinate outside broadcast events.
