About the Role

The Planner – Retail is responsible for analyzing sales data, market trends, and inventory levels to develop effective retail strategies. This role collaborates with multiple departments to ensure product availability, optimize inventory, and support overall sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and Inventory Analysis :
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Monitor inventory levels to maintain optimal stock.
  • Forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly.
  • Reporting and Data Management :
  • Create and maintain reports on sales performance and inventory status.
  • Provide actionable insights based on data analysis to support decision‑making.
  • Planning and Forecasting :
  • Develop sales forecasts and inventory plans.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and buying teams to plan product assortments and stock levels.
  • Monitor and adjust plans based on performance and market trends.
  • Market Research :
  • Conduct research to understand customer preferences and trends.
  • Analyze competitor strategies and performance.
  • Collaboration and Communication :
  • Work closely with merchandising, buying, and supply chain teams to align strategies.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Systems and Tools :
  • Utilize planning and forecasting tools to manage inventory and sales data.
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy in all systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Retail Management, or related field.
  • Previous experience in retail planning, inventory management, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with retail planning software is a plus.
  • Experience with advanced data analytics tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau.
  • Knowledge of retail industry trends and best practices.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
