Position Overview
The NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing new product introduction activities from concept to mass production. This role ensures seamless transition of new products into manufacturing by coordinating cross-functional teams, validating processes, and implementing engineering solutions that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Drive and manage NPI projects from prototype to production readiness.
- Develop and maintain project timelines, deliverables, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Process & Design Validation
- Review and validate product design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
- Develop and execute process validation plans (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical input to improve product performance and manufacturability.
- Manufacturing Readiness
- Develop process flows, work instructions, and control plans for new products.
- Lead tooling, jigs, and fixture development for production requirements.
- Ensure process capability and robustness through DOE, SPC, and other quality tools.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth transfer of products.
- Support customer engineering change requests (ECR / ECO) and implement changes effectively.
- Provide technical support during pilot runs and resolve engineering issues promptly.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, cost efficiency, and product quality.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process capability.
- Document lessons learned and integrate improvements into future NPI projects.
Requirements : -
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering or related field.Experience :Minimum 3–5 years' experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering (preferably in precision engineering, machining, or high-volume manufacturing environment).Proven track record of managing product launches or engineering projects.Technical Skills :Strong knowledge of DFM / DFA, GD&T, machining processes, and assembly techniques.Hands-on experience in tooling, jigs & fixture design, and process validation.Familiar with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality systems.Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD) and MS Project / Excel.Soft Skills :Strong project management and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams and customers.Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.Job Types : Full-time, Fresh graduate
